The Washington Redskins selected Saahdiq Charles in the fourth round (No. 108 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Charles (6-foot-4, 321 pounds) grew up in New Orleans before settling in Mississippi following the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. He attended Madison-Ridgeland Academy, where he became an all-state offensive lineman and a four-star recruit.

Charles committed to LSU and immediately appeared in 13 games (nine starts), including seven at left tackle, en route to earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors. After a sophomore season during which he started 10 games at left tackle, Charles was a part of an offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award as the nation's best unit in 2019.

After the Tigers finished 15-0 and won the national championship, Charles decided to forego his final year of college eligibility and enter the NFL Draft. Now he'll join the Redskins, where he'll join fellow tackles Morgan Moses, Geron Christian Sr. and Cornelius Lucas, among others.

"Charles is a plus-athlete with good bend and agility," NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in his draft profile of Charles. "He lacks desired tackle size and is still a work in progress, but he has enough traits to warrant consideration as a swing tackle with guard potential."
